Inno

MTW says:
How did you first get into wrestling?

Inno says:
started watching ITV's World Of Sport and Kent Walton

Inno says:
then I saw some WWF - I think it was WrestleMania III

Inno says:
I use that as my starting point, as I remember bits of it, although I think my head may be playing tricks with me

MTW says:
What wrestling organisations have you followed in the past?

Inno says:
WWF/WWE, ECW. WCW via Scott Keith rants, the UK old school stuff

Inno says:
and recently, pretty much every indy promotion through posting reports on Smash

MTW says:
Do you get to any of the shows yourself?

Inno says:
only shows I've been to are two WWE UK house shows, one 2 years ago, and the last UK tour

Inno says:
they bocked ruled

Inno says:
or both ruled even

Inno says:
meh

MTW says:
lol. Are you still enthusiastic about wrestling?

Inno says:
to a point

Inno says:
not as much as I was

MTW says:
Why is that do you think?

Inno says:
I really have no idea

Inno says:
I still enjoy a decent match as much as I always did, but they seem to be few and far between these days

Inno says:
I guess I'm just burnt out on the recycled stuff that the WWE is churning out right now

MTW says:
What's your thoughts on the two shows right now, Raw and Smackdown?

Inno says:
Raw is the better show by a country mile

Inno says:
Smackdown is sucking my will to live

Inno says:
all of it due to the BENOIT EFFECT

Inno says:
Raw has it, ergo = it rules

Inno says:
Smackdown doesn't, ergo = it sucks

MTW says:
So JBL isn't doing it for you then?

Inno says:
no, or Ms. Inno, to counter the assertions of his latest column

MTW says:
Ah yes, my next question was of course, are you a homosexual as Bradshaw suggests we all are but youve answered that. When did you start writing about wrestling?

Inno says:
I forget exactly when, but it was late 99/early 2000

Inno says:
the earliest column on my archive site (www.wrestleholic.com , fact fans ) is dated June 2000, and I think I'd been doing it for about 6 months before that

MTW says:
What do you think of your writing then compared to now?

Inno says:
It sucked then, it sucks now

Inno says:
just... not as funny

Inno says:
although some fools voted me as the 15th best write on the net, ahead of Raven

Inno says:
had to get that in

MTW says:
Really? Where was that?

Inno says:
lethalwrestling, I think

Inno says:
ahh yes : http://www.lethalwrestling.com/opinions//news_content.php?fileName=656

Inno says:
not that I keep it or anything

MTW says:
Nice! In your face Raven. Was there any major influences on your writing?

Inno says:
Scott Keith mainly, as Shane McMahon has spotted many, many, MANY times

Inno says:
oh and Mr. Tito

Inno says:
I swore to NEVER be like him in ANY way

MTW says:
Lol. Okay moving away from the wrestling now. Besides look after all of us on Smash, what do you do for a living?

Inno says:
I don't

Inno says:
I can't

Inno says:
we have 5 kids in the house, one has cerebral palsy, one has ADHD, and one isn't at school yet, so I stay home to help out with the kids and the house

MTW says:
What do you like to do for fun? Or maybe I should ask do you get the chance to have fun?

Inno says:
I remember fun...

Inno says:
well, we only really get one day a month to ourselves without the kids, so we don't get out a lot

Inno says:
I like to read and generally surf the net

Inno says:
that's about it

Inno says:
I'm a sad case

MTW says:
You're a big comics fan, is that right? When did you get into those?

Inno says:
yonks ago when I was still at secondary school - a shop near the school sold them, and I bought one one day - that was me

Inno says:
then I lost touch until I started working in Forbidden Planet and the bug hit me again

MTW says:
What are your favourites?

Inno says:
heh

Inno says:
just actually reorganised my standing order an hour ago

Inno says:
I like the darker stuff, like Batman, Daredevil, 100 bullets

Inno says:
and anything written by the God that is Brian Michael Bendis

MTW says:
Okay, on to smash then. Talk us through how Smashwrestling.com came about.

Inno says:
I have no idea, to be honest

Inno says:
it was nearly in place when I bumped into Shah in Forbidden Planet

Inno says:
he told me he was starting a wrestling site, and it was nearly ready

Inno says:
then 3 months later, I was in, after they rescued my details from the Recycle Bin

MTW says:
So you were there from its launch or just after?

Inno says:
just after I think

Inno says:
I think I was one of the first people to be on it after Shah andGroov

MTW says:
What was your role back then?

Inno says:
typing monkey

Inno says:
come up with a column every now and then

MTW says:
Was the message board part of the site from launch then?

Inno says:
I don't think so, that arrived a few months after if I remember rightly

Inno says:
I was still fairly new to the 'net then so I didn't really bother with forums and the like

Inno says:
forgive me if my timeline is waaaaaaaaay off - I have the memory of a goldfish

MTW says:
Do you feel Smash has changed a lot since it first started?

Inno says:
yes indeed

Inno says:
it's got bigger, and dare I say slightly more professional in it's attitude

Inno says:
and more expensive for Groov, probably

MTW says:
Smashwrestling.com got a decent bit of free publicity once upon a time on the defunct Tommy Boyd TalkWrestling radio programme in the UK, including an appearance by you. How did that all come about?

Inno says:
Again, I don't exactly know. For some reason, Boyd and TalkSport got our site from a search on the internet and contacted Shah as he was editor at the time. He and another Smash guy, Mark (The Man With No Name) started doing it and eventually it came round to my turn

MTW says:
And how did that go? Did you enjoy it?

Inno says:
it was strange, to be honest... I was in my kitchen the whole time, praying the battery on the cordless phone would last, and I was basically crapping it most of the time

Inno says:
By the third or fourth time, I was OK with it. It was a fun experience, if nothing else

MTW says:
What was the format then? Was it just you giving your opinions on wrestling, or answering questions?

Inno says:
it was fairly mixed - Tommy would have Alex Shane in the studio and muggins here on the phone, and take callers - he'd shoot questions and opinions to Alex, and then when Alex had put himself over some, I'd get the odd 20 seconds or something to do my bit

MTW says:
As chief mod, you've had to handle a number of controversies here on Smash. What has been either the most difficult for you or the most memorable in your estimation?

Inno says:
fonzgate, which I now totally see was a bad idea, but didn't realise at the time it would cause as much hassle as it did, and probably still does

Inno says:
it was genuinely an attempt to be funny, not to piss people off, but it backfired and caused Groov hassle, and in turn me even more hassle

Inno says:
I hate that McLeod... grrrr

Inno says:
most memorable was the countdown I started

MTW says:
Yes... that was.... fun... Something Ive wanted to know for a while: Is there an official tally on the number of different gimmicks Rock88 had? Or an estimate?

Inno says:
estimated at about 12

Inno says:
I have a pic I took of some of them together somewhere...

MTW says:
And of course, what was your favourite rock88 gimmick?

Inno says:
Luis Kero

Inno says:
so subtle, so clever, so undeniably rock88

MTW says:
He wasn't even trying with that one. Two fairly big recent happenings on Smash - One of them was Clarkey asking for his account to be deactivated. What was your feelings on him choosing to leave?

Inno says:
'twas a real shame

Inno says:
one of the original old schoolers

Inno says:
without getting over dramatic, it feels like the beginning of the end, when the original peeps strat to drop off

Inno says:
*sniff*

MTW says:
The other was the fonz asking for his account to be deactivated then reactivated, which I believe was for the second time and which you took a lot of heat for doing. There were allegations made pretty much saying that thefonz got to do whatever the hell he liked because he had donated so much money. Why was thefonz allowed back and what is your response to those allegations?

Inno says:
fonz was allowed back because I felt like it, to be honest. He freaked out because he got a strike for being a bad man, and decided to leave. I'm not even sure if he actually intended to leave when he asked for the account to be deactivated

Inno says:
yes, he has donated a lot of money to keep Smash going, and that maybe did affect the decision, and I'm not sorry for that.

Inno says:
but, as I said - just because he donates, if he'd earned a suspension or a ban, he would receive it, no matter how much he donated

Inno says:
there's a difference between taking your ball and going home and being fired

Inno says:
on a free message board, no less

MTW says:
You've been to two Glasgow gets Smashed evenings now haven't you? What was it like meeting with some of the members for the first time? And then getting rat-arsed with them?

Inno says:
first one was a bit weird, the whole looking at folks on the other side of the pub and thinking "is that them?"

Inno says:
then the beers starts flowing and everything is good

Inno says:
it's a good night

Inno says:
there's no flame wars, and fonz took a great deal of stick over his perfect alignment pictures with grace and tact

MTW says:
For the uninitiated: What is SmashLife?

Inno says:
the idea was for the writers to have freedom to write about anything and everything without the constraints of the "smash family site" barrier and the wrestling thing

Inno says:
it's kinda died over the past few weeks, but I think that's down to exams and general pressure

Inno says:
I hope

MTW says:
Whats instore in the future of Smashwrestling.com?

Inno says:
honestly - I don't know

Inno says:
the swithc to Smashlife.com was going to go ahead whenever Groov got the time to finish the tweaking on the new site system

Inno says:
Groov is an extremely busy dude and is getting busier, so I don't know when that is going to happen

Inno says:
and I'm not exactly in a hurry to push him about anything

Inno says:
I can't see me doing this much longer to be honest, the main site thing, not the forums

MTW says:
Are you looking to get away from wrestling then?

Inno says:
not looking to get away from it intentionally, just finding it harder and harder to write about it

Inno says:
I've been doing this nearly 5 years now, and I've said pretty much everything I have to say

Inno says:
without recycling myself, it's hard to write every week

Inno says:
and I hate random thoughts columns, even though those are the ones that I get most feedback on

Inno says:
I've already stopped writing every week for the hell of it, I now do one every two weeks unless I have something vastly important to say or it's a PPV week

MTW says:
Whats been your favourite memories of Smash?

Inno says:
hmmm... the countdown, the Glasgow Gets Smashed days, the interaction on the forum....

Inno says:
probably just the enjoyment from kicking about the forums with all the peeps - I genuinely belive we have one of the best forums on the 'net

MTW says:
Well thats almost it. Except for the name game. For anyone who doesn't know how it works, well, you're a bit dumb aren't you? I say a name and Inno tells us what he thinks of that person/entity. Inno, ready?

Inno says:

Inno says:
