Sweatsock

Sweatsock says:
you ready for my shoot now?

MTW says:
Yes. Shoot your load

MTW says:
Not literally, that would be disgusting

Sweatsock says:
Indded:-&

Sweatsock says:
*indeed

MTW says:
Yes, moving on... So, how did you first get into wrestling?

Sweatsock says:
Well I was about 4 or 5 when it was huge in the Uk in 1989/90. I think I got interested 'cos all of my mates were into it.

MTW says:
Is WWE the only company you follow or have followed?

Sweatsock says:
No. I 've followed some of WCW, ECW and a little bit of the old World Class witht he Von Erichs. I'm also just starting to get some CZW and japanese stuff

MTW says:
Cool. So are you still as enthusiastic as ever about the sport?

Sweatsock says:
If I'm beinghonest I'm probably not itno it as muchas i was in 1997/98. That was favourite period ever but I still watch all the PPV's although I sometimes miss Raw and SD!

MTW says:
Why do you think your interest has gone down?

Sweatsock says:
Mainly because it doesn't hold my attention like it used to. There's no real storyteling either in the matches or in the angles. My favourite angle of all time is when Paul Bearer was bringing in Kane. Classic storytelling

MTW says:
I'm glad someone remembers that. Based on the Katie Vick storyline, the current writers certainly don't....

Sweatsock says:
Katie Vick was the personification of everything that's wrong with WWE right now IMO

MTW says:
How do you mean?

Sweatsock says:
Well a rushed storyline, a potential main event feud ruined, the disgust of the casual fans, tasteless necrophilia and more :(

Sweatsock says:
It's not the only feud to have been rushed or ruined either

MTW says:
What others have stood out to you?

Sweatsock says:
Triple H/Booker T, Rock/Goldberg, Brock/Cena, and I'm not sure where Michaels/Y2J is going either. I'm sure there are even more but these were the first ones I thought of

Sweatsock says:
probably 'cos they're pretty recent

MTW says:
Yeah, they're the ones that stand out most to me too. What do you think its going to take to turn the company around?

Sweatsock says:
A HHh/Steph fallout, Heyman given more inputm, firng Gerwitz, creating new stars instead of hiring old/fat/bald/useless ones. Signing old school guys isn't the answer unless it's a short term nostalgia trip

MTW says:
I was just leading to asking about what you thought of the older guys being brought in, but I think you just answered it. So you think the company has to stop with the older guys?

Sweatsock says:
I feel out of them all only Hogan has been a success. Even guys like Nash are never gonna be as good as they were. (Or thought they were in Nash's case)

MTW says:
Lol... but do you share the commonly held Smash opinion that Nash has fantastic hair?

Sweatsock says:
Well I have crew cut so I know bugger all about hair but it does have a great shine to it:p

MTW says:
It certainly does. Going forward, who do you see as the future - the guys the company has to eventually give the ball to?

Sweatsock says:
Cena, Orton, RVD, Brock, Edge, Matt Hardy, Rey and I'd use some of the older but talented guys like Angle, Benoit, Eddie, Booker T, Y2J to get them over. Trips should be doing more to get other stars over as well althought the Booker T feud did look promising until they cut it short.

Sweatsock says:
RVD actually kinda falls into both categories

MTW says:
Speaking of Triple H there, whats your opinion of the Cerebral Ass

MTW says:
*Assassin

Sweatsock says:
Not as good as he was or as good as Foley made him look. I think he is being made too much of a scapegoat though. I'd like to see him put a couple of guys over and to withdraw from the main event for a while. Most would do what he does in his position though.

MTW says:
And what do you think about Goldberg? More specifically, what do you think of the way the company have handled him so far?

Sweatsock says:
They've made him look graet. Unbeatable really. Don't know if you saw Backlash but the fans don't seem to be behind him as much as you'd think they'd need to be to justify his pay

Sweatsock says:
I personally couldn't wait to see him but I feel kinda indifferent now

MTW says:
So you bought Backlash? What did you think of the event?

Sweatsock says:
Crap. Utter crap. My cable provider had problems and I couldn't order it till midnight. Wish I'd gone to bed and forgotten all about it. There was not one match that I actually liked.

MTW says:
Seems to be the consensus view from what Ive been reading.

Sweatsock says:
Goldberg and Rock was built up as a macth of the century type thing. It lsted about 15 bloody minutes. 30% of which Rock spent selling Goldberg's 3 spears. See what I mean by rushing things? Same goes for Brock/Cena and O'Haire Rikishi

Sweatsock says:
I'm generally quite a positive person but even I can't defend that

MTW says:
One to miss then. Okay, Smash conducted a poll recently to start a hall of fame. Everyone on the forums was allowed to submit 5 wrestlers who they thought were most deserving of entry. Your picks were:
1. Hulk Hogan
2. Stone Cold Steve Austin
3. Bret Hart
4. Mick Foley
5. Antonio Inoki

MTW says:
I'd be interested in getting your opinions on your choices

Sweatsock says:
Hogan was there because he was what shaped the business as a whole. He's also responsible for a lot of the fans WWE has, i.e me. Austin was there for similar reasons to Hogan and the fact that he is pretty much and all rounder. Same goes for Bret Hart. I'm a huge Foley mark and that was the main reason for choosing him but I also think he deserves more recognition for his contribution to pro wrestling. Not least his two superb books. I think people will wonder why I chose Inoki but anyone who enjoys watching bloody hardcore, barbed wire, exploding ring mathces has this man to thank. He pioneered a lot of the crazy bumps/matches in wrestling today

MTW says:
Nice. Okay, moving away from wrestling, lets talk about Sweatsock. First of all, do you work?

Sweatsock says:
Yup. I'm a Childcare Worker in an after school care

MTW says:
Is that something you've always wanted to do?

Sweatsock says:
I always wanted to be a teacher but I've ended up doing this and it's a ver cool job

MTW says:
Do you see yourself always doing that then?

Sweatsock says:
I think, adn I've been advised, that I'll maybe go into social work or youth work at some point

MTW says:
And is there a Mrs Sweatsock ;-)

Sweatsock says:
Not at the moment. I came out of a relationship, by my own choice, in February and I'm far too young for anything majorly serious

MTW says:
Good for you :-) So what does Sweatsock do for fun?

Sweatsock says:
Well I'm a season ticket holder at Celtic so I'm there every second week. I can't get to the away games though. I'm usually in the pub or in town clubbing at weekends and I know a lot of people who have a lot of parties.

MTW says:
How do you rate Celtics chances in the final?

Sweatsock says:
I think in most finals in Europe it's 50/50. I'd like to see us play the 4-4-2 that we di against Rangers but I don't know who my two centre backs would be

MTW says:
Are you going?

Sweatsock says:
I'm going to Seville I booked my flights on Friday. I'm on the Euriopean Away ticket registration scheme as well and it's either gonna be a bllot or everyone on the scheme will get one. I'm living in hope

MTW says:
Well good luck. Right, now on to the questions about Smash. First up - How did you come to find Smash?

Sweatsock says:
Hehe. I was actualy looking for Slam Wrestling as I'd seen and advert in a mag. I couldn't remember the name so I typed in Smashwrestling.com, found the guru section and that was it.

Sweatsock says:
I only joined the forum in August but I've been visting Smash for a couple of years

MTW says:
Sweatsock. Explain the name.

Sweatsock says:
I've be asked that by a few people. It's basically just a tribute to Mick Foley.

MTW says:
Aha. Yes that would make sense. You were at the first ever Smash meet up. How did it feel meeting up with some of the guys that were there?

Sweatsock says:
It felt wierd when I was on my way there but we had a laugh and they're cool guys. Nice to know wew were the first to do it and there's the second one tomorrow night.

MTW says:
Looking forward to it I take it? More people than the last time expected?

Sweatsock says:
I was but I've just heard tha fonz can't make it and Hector is only coming for a while. Nt sure about Dr Hellwig, Inno or Groov but I doub they'll be there:(

MTW says:
Well hope it goes well. Back to the boards, what do you think about the mods, just in general?

Sweatsock says:
They're great. Like I said to Inno in his interview. They all come across ordinary posters who just happen to be mods. That's not arse licking it's just the way I see it

MTW says:
And what do you think about the smash members, as a whole?

Sweatsock says:
For the most part they're cool.

MTW says:
The Strike system seems to be a constant hot topic on smash. Do you think its an idea that works?

Sweatsock says:
It did at the beginning but I feel some memers are delibratley seeking strikes now. Sort of some wird badge of honour thing. Clowns:D

MTW says:
Yes. Ass clowns says I. Do you have a favourite smash memory that makes you go all dewey eyed whenever you think about it?

Sweatsock says:
Maybe Glasgow Gets Smashed,or the first time Groov pm'd me or even the shoot I did with Inno

MTW says:
All of them wonderful memories. Now an important question - What was your favourite Rock88 gimmick?

Sweatsock says:
The original rock I think or maybe the Ben one, took him a while to get caught and he even pm'd me a couple of times and I never twigged

MTW says:
Rock88 pmed me once, asking about what I thought of the current british wrestling scene. I ignored him, and promised myself that I would stab him in the eyes if he ever did it again. True Story. Anyway, out of all the banned losers we've had over the past year or so - which one was your personal favourite and why?

Sweatsock says:
LoL. Stab him in the eyes. I am so gonna use that. Mine would probably be MMark although he's back now. When he's not acting a bit silly he's really into his wrestling. Don't really miss any of the other banned guys.

MTW says:
Yeah, they all suck. Okay, we're nearing the end. "Thank fuck for that" says Sweatsock. As per normal, we'll do that thing what I give you peoples names and you tell me what you think of them

Sweatsock says:
Cool I was waiting for this. It's been cool doing this

MTW says:
Hector Nicols Accordian

Sweatsock says:
Cool guy who loves Morton. Maybe a bit blinkered but then so am I probably. Very good at debating his points

MTW says:
Bollywood Singh

Sweatsock says:
I disliked his Mr Negative faze but he's been cool recently. I even asked his advice on EWR

MTW says:
Mtank

Sweatsock says:
He kinda scares me. I've not had much to do with him but he's well liked.

MTW says:
Pegster

Sweatsock says:
Pffffff. More plugs than B&Q

MTW says:
Lol. Michaels

Sweatsock says:
I think he gets involved in a lot of arguments/discussions just for the sake of it

MTW says:
Shane McMahon

Sweatsock says:
Funny guy. Again I've not had much to do with him

MTW says:
TheFonz

Sweatsock says:
who? nah he's cool. He's pretty funny when you meet him face to face as well. Sone of his jokes are shit though ;)

MTW says:
IamStevie

Sweatsock says:
Very upfront about what he's like. Maybe a little too nice at times. Sometimes he should just tell people to piss off

MTW says:
Big Black Guy Named Ben

Sweatsock says:
Well they say God loves a tryer......

MTW says:
Edgerulz

Sweatsock says:
Good mod. Kind of a senior member

MTW says:
And lastly - Inno.

Sweatsock says:
Puts a hell of a lot of work into Smash and doesn't deserve the crap he takes at times.

MTW says:
No he doesn't. Well thanks very much for your time - All nearly two hours of it!

Sweatsock says:
Yeah it did take a while but it was cool to do.

Strongbad, he say go back!.
