Undertaker, Nash, Big Show and Kane... maybe all recognised names, but not recognised for great performances. Raw’s one ace card may be the impressive rookie Brock Lesnar. Vince’s Smackdown roster came out with all the work horses - Benoit, Angle, Edge, Storm, Jericho, even The Rock, and from what we hear in the news, they will have the Cruiserweight division.
Smackdown is the most widely seen show, due to UPN being available in more areas than TNN is, so has that influenced the distribution of talent? Has the focus of the WWF shifted from Raw to Smackdown? With the draft picks we saw last week, it certainly appears that way. Raw may have the Hardcore division that seems to be an ECW revival at the moment, but will that appeal to the casual fan that tunes in every week to see the big names they are used to? Only time will tell in the upcoming months, but for the sake of Raw, I hope Vince knows what he’s doing.
